My child-to-caretaker ratio is 7:1, with no more than four children under the age of four, and of those four no more than two being under the age of two.
Yes! My childcare is opted into the CCFRI and parents are welcome to apply for additional ACCB subsidy within my childcare. Please note that payment will be due in full until subsidy has been accepted. Any back pay will be applied to future payments.
In addition to being a certified Early Childhood Educator I am CPR and First Aid Certified and possess my FoodSafe.
I have a current criminal record check on file, as does my husband who resides at the childcare's address and may be on the premises while they are in my care.
My family loves animals and so we have a couple of fur babies on site. We have a 4 year old German Shephard/Black Lab, a 13 year old cat, and a caged hamster. None of our animals are permitted to roam around the childcare during operating hours and do not come into contact with the children.
YES! I strive to work with parents to make their children as comfortable as possible while in my care. I also enforce an open door policy and so parents are welcome to drop in at any time during the day to visit their child.
I provide age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, to stimulate the minds of infants and toddlers, and to promote motor and social skill development. I use paint, play dough, glue, chalk, books, and sensory tables. The children are introduced to new learning opportunities daily and are encouraged to take part in a variety of themed activities. We take lots of local field trips and visit the surrounding parks often.
In order to keep myself and all of our children healthy, I require any sick child to stay home until symptoms have recovered and/or they are cleared by a doctor's note, depending on the illness. For more information on what symptoms require your child to stay home, please view my sick policy in the parent's handbook.
Yes! I am FoodSafe certified and follow a monthly menu tailored by the Canada Food Guide. Parents will receive a copy of this menu and meals are posted at the childcare daily. Children enrolled with me will receive breakfast and an afternoon snack while in my care.
As the eldest of four, I have been surrounded by children my entire life. On my 12th birthday I took my babysitting course and began watching family friends' children right away. A few years later I got into respite care, later going on to work as a nanny and eventually opened up an in home childcare in Alberta. Since then I have had two children of my own. While on maternity leave I did volunteer work, childminding for Better Beginnings in Chilliwack. I have a combined total of 10 years of experience working with children that are not my own.
My monthly fee varies based on the age of children in my care. My childcare is opted into the CCFRI program, greatly reducing fees for parents. Families can find my Fee Sheet under the Downloads page.
